A lot of bingo sites are becoming more and more acceptant to online payment methods. In the beginning, it stood at just the generic card payments, but now it has expanded, and bingo sites are willing to give customers a range of e-wallets to choose from as well, this can include the likes of PayPal, Neteller and loads more. UKash is an example of an e-wallet that bingo sites, casino sites and sports betting sites are warming to and allowing customers to use.

The reason why yourself and other customers choose to use a method such as UKash, instead of the more traditional payment methods can be for a number of reasons. First of all, the level of security in e-wallets is a lot higher than card payments, this is not to say that your banking information is not safe if you use a card payment. As you are not exposing your bank details to make a transaction, and you have to first buy a voucher, either in store or online, there are more barriers of safety. UKash vouchers can be bought between the amount of £5-£500. When you buy these vouchers, you will be given a specific code, this code is then to be redeemed on the bingo site, where you will enter in the voucher code and it will then grant you with your bingo funds to spend on the available bingo games. UKash is a safe payment method to use and also it is free, you do not need to pay a fee to have a UKash account. UKash is regulated by the Financial Services Authority, who are a huge UK financial organisation.

History of UKash

UKash were founded back in 2005. Although they are yet to become one of the biggest and most popular forms of payment to a customer’s online bingo account, they are doing a pretty good job at growing in popularity and attracting more customers. With a lot of competition in this market, it is hard to convince customers to switch from other methods of payments in which they are comfortable with, for example the likes of debit cards, credit cards and PayPal.

In 2014, UKash was acquired by the popular e-wallet, Skrill after Ukash entered administration. They then merged Ukash with Paysafecard, which was also bought out by Skrill a year earlier.

Customers were given a chance to upgrade their old accounts to the new Paysafe card and with Skrill’s help, made newly reformed online payment system flourish.

How does it work?

Paysafecard/Ukash is a simple and extremely secure payment option which functions similarly to Amazon giftcards and other store cards you might’ve encountered. The player will need to go to their local convenience shop which sells Paysafe/Ukash cards and these can then be bought in amounts of £10, £25, £50, £75 or £100.

Alternatively, these cards can also be bought online. It’s important to know that you won’t be able to withdraw money from this card and it’s only intended to buy goods/services online, at digital establishments which accept UKash/Paysafecard. Being owned by Skrill, there is an option for UKash players to use the card to transfer funds to their Skrill account. We don’t recommend doing this, however, as it can be quite costly due to fees.

There are two different types of Ukash/Paysafe cards. These are simply named the ‘Adult’ and ‘Young Adult’ versions, respectively. To play bingo online, you’ll only be able to add funds to your bingo account through the adult version. This is a great safety measure to ensure minors don’t partake in illegal underage gambling.

Security

Paysafe card is known as one of the safest online transaction methods and one of it’s main security features is the 16-digit code from the front of the card, which you have to enter before completing a purchase. If you have a smartphone, it’s worth noting that you can store these pins in an app online, which can make mobile transactions smooth and secure.

If you have a few different UKash cards, you can combine the credit from all cards which are stored within the app. When the cards are stored on the mobile app, you aren’t required to have the 16-digit pin to complete a purchase and can instead, checkout by entering your username and password.

UKash Bonuses & Promotions

Some bingo sites are in fact willing to offer a bingo bonus with deposits that are made by UKash. Some bingo sites have in fact offered around a 20% deposit increase to customers that have used this method before. Take a look at the bingo sites above that allow you to make payments to their bingo platform via UKash!

Pros

  • You can’t get into any sort of debt as the result of using a UKash card. What you’ve got is what you can spend.
  • Tracking your individual spend is much easier through the app and nature of how the card works.
  • If you’re unable to/don’t want to obtain a credit or debit card, you can pay in cash for a Ukash card.
  • Your personal details aren’t taken/stored on the card, so it’s extremely safe to use from a fraud prevention perspective.

Cons

  • Due to how the card works, if you’ve not stored your details on the app, you’ll lose all the money on the card if it’s lost.
  • Some sites incur a transaction fee when you checkout with Ukash/Pay Safe Card.
  • If you want to claim the welcome bonus, most sites will require that you make a deposit via another banking method first.
  • You’re not able to withdraw funds via UKash, so you’ll need to add a bank account or e-wallet to receive your winnings.
